New to Yoga?

We are the perfect place for you to learn. We have Beginners classes each day and our experienced teachers look forward to being your guide. We welcome all to our Beginners and Gentle classes.

What should I wear to class?
If you are attending a gentle, restorative, yin, intro to yoga, and/or a Samadhi all-levels class, dress in layers. Pants that stretch and tops that breathe are recommended. If you are attending class a heated class, power, it is recommended to wear clothes that stretch, breathe and wick away moisture.

What should I bring to class?
Bring your yoga mat and water. If you are attending a power yoga class, a hand towel is necessary.

What should I do with my cell phone?
Please leave your cell phone outside of the class on silent (not vibrate). You can also refer to the studio etiquette worksheet within this packet for more on our cell phone policy.

What if I am late to class? What if I have to leave early?
If you’re late for class, please wait outside the room until centering is completed. If you need to leave early, let the instructor know ahead of time.

What if I need a yoga mat?
We suggest that you bring your own yoga mat to class. If you do not own a mat, we have community mats at the front desk you are able to borrow. If you would like to purchase your own mat, we sell Jade mats in a variety of colors.

Where should I park? What if the parking lot is full?
Parking is available in the front of the building and the back of the building.

I have never taken a yoga class. Which class should I take?
We recommend you start with either a gentle or beginners class. These classes move at a slower pace and are generally safer and more accessible for beginners.

What if I have any injury?
If you have an injury, we suggest that you first consult with your physician to ensure that yoga is suitable for you. Please tell your instructor about your injury before class so that he or she can suggest modifications if necessary.

What if I don’t feel well during class?
If at any time during class you don’t feel well (dizzy, lightheaded, nauseous), please feel free to step out of the class room and take a break. Our front desk staff will be happy to help get you some water and help you in any way needed. Do not force yourself to stay in the class, especially if the heat is bothering you.

Who should I contact if I have additional questions?
Our front desk staff is always happy to answer any questions you may have. You may also email the studio at samadhiyogastudio@att.net or call (860) 646-4341.
