Sarajean Rudman

With pride and tons of good vibes, Sarajean Shakti Rudman is always honored to teach at Samadhi Yoga Studio in her hometown of Manchester, CT where she aims to develop community around the practice and love of Yoga. Sarajean has been inspired by many yoga teachers at Kripalu in the Berkshires, local New England Yoga studios, and elsewhere along her Yoga path. She is a professional fitness and kickboxing instructor, NASM Certified Personal Trainer and Fitness Nutrition Specialist, Certified Crossfit Level 1 Coach, Yoga Alliance Experienced Registered Yoga Teacher who studied at Kripalu, Ayurvedic Lifestyle Consultant and Ayurvedic Yoga Specialist. Sarajean has her degree in Sports Management and Fitness and Wellness, and over 780 hours of training in Ayurveda (the holistic Indian Medicine) from the Kripalu School of Ayurveda. Before studying Yoga, Ayurveda, fitness and wellness, Sarajean studied jazz guitar and music production and technology at University of Hartford’s Hartt School of Music. She had a short career as a live sound engineer and a singer-songwriter. Her Yoga sequencing often flows together much like the lyrics of a song would. In 2010, Sarajean created Bala Hot Power Yoga, an Ayurvedically-inspired powerful seasonal Yoga practice. Ayurveda is a five-elemental approach to preventative medicinal healing, offering longevity through nutrition, lifestyle and seasonal changes. Bala Yoga focuses on strength, stability, healing, and balance. “Bala” literally means “strength” in Sanskrit.

When you walk into a class led by Sarajean Shakti Rudman, you are promised a good laugh, a good stretch and probably a little bit of sweat on your brow. She is sure to invite you into some challenging poses as well as help you surrender to whatever they open up. Her classes are “vinyasa” style, also known as a “flow” class, and are adjusted in accordance to the seasonal changes in New England, the times of day the practice is held, and whatever funky yoga tunes have snuck into her playlist. Sarajean teaches both moderate and vigorous vinyasa classes at Samadhi Yoga and is excited to share her ideas and sequences with you on the mat.
