Yin Yoga

A quiet practice designed to help you start your day centered, relaxed, and fully connected in your body.

Yin Yoga is suitable for all levels. It is a perfect complement to the dynamic and muscular (yang) styles of yoga that emphasize lengthening of muscles, building internal heat, and using breath to energize and activate the body. At the end of each class, there will be an extended meditation to integrate the practice.

Yin Yoga has been called “A quiet practice” through longer holdings of postures designed to target the connective tissues, such as the ligaments, bones, and even the joints of the body that are not normally exercised very much in more active asana practice.


By holding these postures for extended periods of time (anywhere from one to five minutes), the deep connective tissues that form our joints begin to stretch and rehabilitate, creating increased flexibility, reducing risk of injury to the joints, and promoting relaxation.
